Multimedia and virtual environment technologies and their applications provide a new medium for the advancement of human expression, interpretation and preservation of the human spirit and essence of humanity.

 

For over 12 years, the VSMM Society through its annual conferences has fostered the integration of the human, technological and strategic aspects of digital technologies under the umbrella of international exchange, cooperation and development.

As the first major international conference to focus on the application of 3D digital technologies for the protection and valorization of cultural heritage, VSMM pioneered the field of Virtual Heritage over a decade ago.

 

Bridging Space and Place through digital exchange and experience, VSMM07 is rooted in Australias rich indigenous cultural appreciation of place, and its thriving digital games, design, production, and new media industries. This will be the first time the International Conference on Virtual Systems and MultiMedia has been held in Australia. It will be held in Brisbane and hosted by the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design (ACID).
